What I Offer
Copyediting
$0.02 per word
Copyediting precedes proofreading and provides an in-depth review of your writing. I’ll look for inconsistencies in tone, style, and continuity; suggest improvements to awkward phrasing; perform light fact-checking; and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and usage.
Proofreading
$0.01 per word
Proofreading is the final review before publication. I’ll check for errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and formatting, using the appropriate style guide (CMOS or AP).

Consultation
We’ll begin with a free consultation to discuss your project, the type of editing you need, your timeline, and any questions you may have.

Project Details
You’ll complete a brief onboarding form so I can learn more about your document, your goals, and any concerns you would like me to address.

Agreement
I’ll provide a written agreement outlining the scope of work, schedule, fee, and other project details. We’ll both sign the agreement before work begins.

Initial Payment
A nonrefundable 50% initial payment is required to reserve your project dates. The remaining 50% is due when editing is complete and before the final files are delivered.

Editing
I’ll copyedit, proofread, or both, according to the scope and schedule outlined in our agreement.

Editing Complete
When editing is complete, I’ll let you know your project is ready. The remaining 50% balance is due at that time.

Final Delivery
Once final payment is received, I’ll return your completed document, along with any notes or supporting information included in our agreement. You’ll then have an opportunity to review the edits and ask questions per our agreement.
